The Answer in One Sentence: The Battle of Armageddon caused the Collapse of the Ancient World
The Fall of Jerusalem
In conjunction with the destruction of the temple and fall of Jerusalem, the historians Josephus and Tacitus recorded eyewitness accounts of supernatural beings engaged in battle above the city. Shortly after, the pagan gods vanished without a trace, the ancient world came to an end, and humans were left alone on the earth as the preeminent beings of the modern world.
Reconstruction of Jerusalem and Herod’s Temple” by James Joseph Jacques Tissot 1886 – 1894
“Not One Stone will be left here upon another”
When Messiah came to Jerusalem, in AD30, he told his disciples that a civil war would engulf the Jews. In those battles, the temple would be destroyed and the city would be left desolate. Forty years later, in AD70, the temple was destroyed to the foundation stones, and not one person remained in Jerusalem. That cataclysm was the epicenter of the battle of Armageddon. It ended the Kingdom of Judah, and the tribe of people called the Jews.

Civil War Engulfs The Jews
In AD63, a civil war between three factions of Jews erupted in Jerusalem. In their internal battles, they sealed the gates, and trapped over one million people in the city. The opposing factions destroyed the grain storehouses, causing a terrible famine.
Hundreds of thousands of Jews, were either killed in these internal battles, or died of starvation. The combatants would not allow the bodies of their opponents to be buried; therefore, huge piles of rotting corpses were left to decay in the streets. It caused a horrific infestation pestilence, killing thousands of Jews every day. The civil war lasted seven years, bringing “Great Tribulation” to the Jews.

The Romans Come to Judea
In AD68, Emperor Nero sent General Vespasian to end the civil war in Judea. He pacified Galilee, and, in AD69, prepared to march on Jerusalem. When Nero committed suicide, the General ordered his troops to stand down.
Later that year, the army declared Vespasian Emperor, while he was at the gates of Jerusalem. He returned to Rome, and sent his son, Titus, to end the civil war in Judea. Titus amassed a force of sixty-five thousand troops and, in AD70, lay siege to Jerusalem.
Francesco Hayez 1867
The Jews Set Fire to the Temple
Titus made several offers of peace, but the tyrants leading the civil war refused to capitulate. At that point, the Roman army began to attack the walls of the city.
In an effort to thwart the Roman advance on the temple, the Jews set fire to the cloisters surrounding the outer court. The fire quickly became an inferno, and began to encroach on the sanctuary.
David Roberts 1850
The fall of Jerusalem
When the Romans entered the temple, it was already in flames. Titus ordered his troops to extinguish the fire; unfortunately, it quickly became a supernatural conflagration that consumed the sanctuary to the very foundation stones.
In the end, one million, one hundred thousand Jews had been killed, and ninety thousand were taken captive as slaves. They were sent to row in Roman galleys, forced to fight as gladiators, thrown to wild beast in the arenas of Rome, or worked to death in the mines of Egypt. Precisely as foretold by Messiah, Jerusalem was left utterly desolate. See Mat 24:15
The Dome of the Rock: all that remains of the Temple in Jerusalem
Please observe the details of this extraordinary outcropping, and read the author’s description to the left of the picture.
“Not one stone will be left here upon another.”
Near the end of the battle for Jerusalem, an earthquake beneath the temple release magma from the earth’s core, and consumed the sanctuary to the very foundation stones.
Please notice what appear to be individual stones in the lower left hand corner of the picture, and a symmetrical hole in the upper left corner.
I propose that some of the smaller stones of the temple, along with other less durable remnants, became trapped in the slowly cooling magma. As the combined material congealed, it formed this mass of brimstone.
The temple mount, on which this rock sits, was exposed to the elements for centuries, and the weather washed away the top layer of debris. When the less durable material trapped in the brimstone deteriorated, these geometric voids and individual stones became visible.
The dimpled portions, predominant on the right hand side, have the appearance of a viscous substance that was boiling, and, as it slowly cooled, the bubbles in the material left pockmarks in the surface.
Messiah Foretold the Destruction of the Temple:
And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to show him the buildings of the temple.
And Jesus said to them, See all of these things? Surely I say to you, There will not be left here one stone upon another, they will all be thrown down. Para. Mat.24.:1-3.
Messiah issued his prophecy in AD30. Forty years later, that temple was destroyed to the very foundation stones, and Jerusalem was left utterly desolate. See also, Isa. 64:10-11, and Ez. 24:21.
The Temple in Jerusalem
The God of Abraham instructed King Solomon to build a temple in Jerusalem as a sign of His Presence on Earth. It was the place where, through the ancient Israelites, God interacted with humanity. The destruction of that temple, in AD70, is empirical evidence that God has withdrawn from the earth, and is no longer communicating with mankind. Some religions claim that the temple will be rebuilt; unfortunately, there is no prophecy for an additional temple in Jerusalem.
The Battle of Armageddon
Precisely as foretold in the history of ancient Israel, a great battle of the gods coincided with the destruction of the temple and fall of Jerusalem. That cataclysm was the epicenter of the battle of Armageddon, foretold by God to the prophets of ancient Israel. It destroyed the supernatural forces who ruled the advanced civilizations of the ancient world, and humans “inherited the earth.”
The Dark Ages of the New World Order
After the cataclysmic events of AD70, theologians simply could not face the reality inherent in the destruction of the temple and fall of Jerusalem. In the deep ignorance of the dark ages, they began to form “religions,” and fostered the sincere belief that the God of Abraham continued to interact with humans in the modern world. There is no evidence to support that myth. The Kingdoms of Israel and Judah were theocratic governments – not “religions.” Judaism, Christianity, and Islam etc, are modern pretenders to that ancient reality.

The historical and archeological evidence supporting that reality, is without limit. It can be found in the ruins of the ancient world, on every continent of the globe.

And you shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free. Joh. 8:32.

Humans Inherit the Earth
King David and Messiah foretold of a time when humans would inherit the earth:
But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. Ps.37:11, Mat. 5:5.
Now that we have been given dominion over the earth, we are going to have to learn how to be good stewards of that trust, and unite as humans. That unity cannot be based in thousands of contentious atheistic and religious beliefs, it must be based in a universal Truth.
Messiah gave us this advice: “Therefore, treat each other as you would be treated.” Paraprase
If we can learn to live by that rule, we will delight ourselves in the “abundance of peace,” foretold by King David.
